PriMed is pleased to announce that St. Vincent’s Medical Center of Bridgeport has appointed Dr. Gregory S. Bloom as Director of the Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory and Dr. Victor Mejia as Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.  Both physicians are with PriMed’s Connecticut Heart & Vascular Center of Bridgeport and Shelton.

Dr. Gregory S. Bloom, PriMed Cardiologist

Specializing in non-invasive cardiology and cardiac imaging, Dr. Gregory Bloom is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography.  He attained his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, NY.  He completed his cardiology fellowship at North Shore/Long Island Jewish Medical Center, NY.

Dr. Bloom will provide leadership and guidance for St. Vincent’s Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory’s complete range of imaging services for the diagnosis and evaluation of cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Victor Mejia is board certified in Internal Medicine, Interventional Cardiology and Cardiology with a medical degree from Cornell University.  He completed his residency at the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and a Fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Mejia’s expertise is in treating arteriosclerotic disease of the coronary and peripheral arteries.  He will oversee the operations of St. Vincent’s Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory where a multitude of cardiac diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for cardiovascular disease are performed.  Dr. Mejia also serves on the Medical Executive Committee for St. Vincent’s.

Both physicians are members of St. Vincent’s Heart Valve Clinic, which is comprised of a multispecialty team of physicians, including cardiologists and surgeons, who collaborate on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex and high-risk aortic valve disease.
